Tung Oil on Surface

Tung oil will not work with epoxy. If tung oil is used on a surface and epoxy is poured on top, it will bead up like water on car wax. If you absolutely want to use tung oil we recommend waiting a month after applying it to your surface, then apply 2-3 coats of oil based polyurethane, then you can apply the epoxy to the surface. However, you need to make sure that every single inch of the surface is covered with oil based polyurethane otherwise you will have fisheyes in the epoxy as it will not stick.
